The Idaho Climbing Championship Series

 “Providing competitions for growth and inspiration to Idaho’s climbing community”

This is the second year of the Idaho Championship Series! We started this competition in 2022 to fill a void in Idaho’s climbing community. This series has no age restrictions or membership fees. One of the goals of the Idaho Climbing Championship Series is to provide an accessible way for Idaho Climbers to be motivated to compete against their peers.

To provide a competition series where Idahoans can compete, set goals, grow, and challenge themselves on a local stage. 

 

Qualification Series

There will be several qualifying events where competitors can earn points in an effort to compete in a finals round. Each year there will be two finals rounds one for bouldering occurring in the fall and one for lead occurring in the spring.

Points are earned for competing in participating gym’s qualification competition. Points will be awarded based on the table below. A climber’s season point total will be the sum of their 2 highest scores. At the conclusion of the final qualifying event, the 5 athletes with the highest point totals in boulders will be invited to the Idaho Bouldering Championship and the athletes with the 7 highest point totals in lead will be invited to the Idaho Lead Climbing Championship. The reigning champions from the prior year have automatic entry into finals.

Competitors must be Idaho residents to earn points towards the Idaho Climbing Championship Series. These points will only be awarded to Idaho residents. If an out of state resident is placed higher than an Idaho resident in any qualifier they will be omitted from the point placement and the higher score will be given to the Idaho resident. (Example. Sven from Washington takes first, Joe from Idaho takes 2nd, Tony from Idaho takes 3rd. Steven will earn 1000 points and Tony will earn 805 points.)
